Biography: Lois Peterson

Lois Peterson holds an MFA degree in Ceramics with minors in Drawing, Art History and Museum Studies from Texas Tech University, and a BS in Art Education degree, from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. Upon completion of her MFA in 1987 Peterson served as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Studio Art at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington and in 1989 she joined the faculty in the Department of Art/Art History at Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, Minnesota. Peterson was a Professor of Art for 29 years and currently works in her private studio in Dakota, Minnesota.

Peterson exhibits her work nationally and regionally in solo and group exhibitions and has received numerous grants to support her work, including funding from the Blandin Foundation, the McKnight Foundation, Gustavus Adolphus College and the Minnesota State Arts Board. She has served as an invited guest artist in South Africa and Italy and has served on numerous artist panels in addition to being an invited juror for a wide range of exhibitions.
